Update - bystander CPR went up from 50% to 58% from 2003 to 2008 -
saves went up from 35% to 50% from 2003 to 2008 - basically >>>> if a
bystander does CPR on the victim, maybe there is close to a 100% save
rate >>>> we can probably translate this to >>>>> if CPR is done
within 3 minutes, BLS arrives in 5 minutes, and ALS arrives in 8
minutes, then we should expect a save rate of 100% for sudden cardiac
arrest deaths

ERGO - there is lots of room for improvement in the USA - especially
by speeding up the dispatch and turnout procedures
