"Yes we have no command cars today" -------------------------
Several communities in MetroFire do not operate a Command Car. I noticed today on the Saugus FD radio test that "C3" was the officer on Ladder 1. AFAIK this means that "Captain of Shift 3" (C3) was the Officer In Charge for the onduty shift / platoon - and that he was riding as the officer on Ladder 1 - since "C3" tested his radio after the Engines and before Ladder 1 A. (Actually - maybe C3 just means Shift Commander - with C1 being Chief - and C2 maybe being the Deputy Chief.) In any case, the shift commander does not have his own vehicle (SUV typically) to use. Here is a list of MetroFire fire departments that dont run a dedicated vehicle for the shift commander. (feel free to correct) Braintree Lincoln Randolph Reading Saugus Stoneham Wakefield Winchester Winthrop Woburn I am not quite sure what Arlington FD is doing these days. It sometime seems that late at night they do not have a Deputy Chief responding to boxes. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
