Openness vs Ebola in Boston 1. Most public safety radio channels in the Boston area are not encrypted - except FBI - except 155.115 for Boston hospital net - except 460.475 BPD command channel - except some radio techs channels - except some new 700 Mhz TGs
2. There are multiple live scanner audio feeds for the Boston area. Ambulance to hospital channels are not included. Most City of Boston feeds scan multiple channels. Many suburban feeds are dedicated to 1 channel of 1 agency. There are very few radio channels dedicated solely to Public Health agencies (perhaps a couple of talkgroups on the Boston area TRS). It is unlilely that any of the Public Health talkgroups are being live streamed. 3. Alot of comms are probably carried via cellphones which are encrypted and unmonitorable by police scanners. 4. Today Boston EMS has been live tweeting updates on the Logan incident as they happen. 5. Today 1 or 2 Boston TV stations were live streaming live video from news helos over Logan Airport. Several Boston area news reporters have been live Tweeting updates of the Logan incident. 6. Today TV5 live streamed the press conference by Boston Health Dept. I am not sure how much of that was distributed over the air. Openness = the notion (idea / concept / belief) that listening to radio traffic from public safety agencies can be a very useful thing to do. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
