this channel is busy all day long P1 Burlington - P2 Woburn - P3 Arlington - P4 Watertown ish
plus some extra units they are running ALS calls all day long and the dispatchers are constantly moving units from town to town to try to maintain good coverage additionally - Medford A1 and A2 are controlled on the channel - but they are pretty much dedicated to City of Medford service I heard P2 sent to Medford on a ALS call recently - but that is the only time that I have a Medford ALS call handled by someone other than Medford A1 H1 is heard only rarely there are some ALS transfer trucks also heard comms are scratchy for the mobiles in many locations - I think they are trying to cover a very large area with just 1 repeater site sometimes beeps are sounded for ALS calls units typically are dispatched initially on the local FD channel - and then check in with the Armstrong dispatcher to try to figure out the street name they dont seem to have any mobile data terminals - they call off onscene on all calls the dispatcher sometimes says "we are working EMD on the call now" sometimes units go on mutual aid calls to Billerica and Reading and Bedford - such as if Burlington FD goes to Billerica, then P1 might go with them - if Woburn Rescue goes to Reading, P2 might go with them I think the dispatchers have a live map that hows the location of all the ALS units - "Navigator" might be the "program" or / service actually - P2 and A1 might be the only units that are initially dispatched on the local FD channels - P2 on Woburn Fire and A1 on Medford Fire - or it might be kinda a tie as to which channel carries the call first - crews probably try to monitor both 463.60R and the local FD channel I suspect that 463.60R is considered to be the real "home" channel for the Armstrong ALS units -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
