Armstrong ALS also handles alot of "private calls" - Boston College - nursing homes - Harvard Vanguard facilities - hospital transfers - etc
"Private calls" go directly to Armstrong dispatchers via 11 digital telephone numbers. No other public safety units respond (such as police or fire units). Therefore no 911 CAD entry, and no police or fire reports are generated. But the units do run "hot" with lights and sirens, and they do violate traffic laws left and right when they run hot I am sure. Armstrong ALS units usually run "hot" when responding to all calls. Sometimes they are told it is a "cold call" (which means that no lights and sirens are to be used when responding to the call). Units advise the dispatcher when they are carrying a patient with lights and sirens on - ie "hot to the MGH" etc. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
