and the 6th FD east of Detroit is now transitioning to a PSO
organization - per the 2016 Annual Report from the Harper Woods PD -
presently Harper Woods spends $3M on their PD and $800K on their FD -
PD has 26 FT cops - some are already trained as firefighters - more
are being trained as firefighters presently - the city website just
mentions "3 fire captains" on the FD webpage - and the Michigan FD
Directory says they just have 5 FT FF - I suspect that the Harper
Woods FD now has 9 FT people - which gives them 3 people on duty 24/7
- to protect a 2 square mile town - that is very close to an adjacent
community with a PSO agency - or maybe Harper Woods FD just has 1 fire
peson on duty to drive the ambulance or fire truck - and the cops
provide the rest of the manpower - lets see if there are any recent
news stories about Harper Woods
