Nope! The files take about 8 seconds to cat on my system. (This is true when I replaces the 'a's with random text. Without that, it takes less than .5 seconds). When I use --skipPages 100 or 500, it takes less than a second. (The folded file takes *slightly* less time than the unfolded file). Are you running with -cf /dev/null, without debugging info?
