Hmm. I just tried what you said, and can't see an error. Can you sent me
the exact sequence of keys you typed? Pressing <C-k> how many ever
times, followed by <C-u> how many ever times worked perfectly for me.

It might be a setting with termcap/terminfo. Try changing the value of
TERM. (Also try installing the mrxvt.terminfo file supplied with mrxvt).
