You shouldn't edit rcsetup.py directly -- that is part of the matplotlib source code. Instead, you should edit the matplotlibrc settings file.
In there, you'll actually want to change two settings: 1) Add Cambria to the front of the font.serif list 2) Set "font.family" to "serif", so that mpl will use that list.
