I have some notes on how to install on OS X that covers this -- see http://ipython.scipy.org/moin/Py4Science/InstallationOSX The explanation on the xcode dev tools is brief, and reads:: install gcc and other developer tools Install XCode developer tools from the Leopard install CD under optional packages. Verify the install -- check for a working gcc > gcc --version i686-apple-darwin9-gcc-4.0.1 (GCC) 4.0.1 (Apple Inc. build 5465) If you don't have the cd (or not a very recent one), you can get XCodetools from the Apple Developer Connection: http://developer.apple.com/tools/download/ you may have to join (for free) and login. Hope this helps, JDH ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Matplotlib-users mailing list Matplotlib-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/matplotlib-users
