There is no quick reference, though one would be handy.  If you scroll down
to the bottom of the main page at

http://matplotlib.sourceforge.net/index.html

there is a summary of the pyplot plotting commands with links to the full
docs.  You can at least see most everything that is available in pyplot in
one place.
