It would still be helpful to see the whole listing (send it to me offlist) because that will indicate where fonts are being looked for, and hopefully *why* this is failing.
It should search for fonts in the standard Windows location (usually C:\Windows\Fonts). Have you tried setting font.family to "New Century Schoolbook" directly? (I wonder if the secondary lookup is failing).
