Hi Claire, Yes, you should be able to do it using Matpower. However, you should look at the bus coding because, distribution system has only one generator bus.

The example cases provided by MATPOWER in power flow solution are transmission systems. Is MATPOWER capable to solve power flow for radial distribution feeders? I try to perform a distribution grid power flow program. Could I use the data for distribution system in the MATPOWER routine?
