Dear Claire,

You need to convert all the data into per unit values. Then insert them into
the matpower data. But, you need the put the correct voltage values for the
base case.

Subject: RE: power flow for radial distribution feeders (distribution grid)

 Dear Dr. Musirin:

Thank you for your help!

The case format provided in the MATPOWER is correspongding to IEEE trisimission
system data, including 14 bus, 30 bus... test system. But the distribution
feeder is based on a different model that is illustrated in the following
website (data of 13 node, 34 node ... feeders).
http://www.ewh.ieee.org/soc/pes/dsacom/testfeeders.html
How can I input this set of date for distribution feeder into the MATPOWER case?

Best regards,
Claire

Hi Claire,

Yes, you should be able to do it using Matpower. However, you should look at
the bus coding because, distribution system has only one generator bus.

Good luck.

Subject: power flow for radial distribution feeders (distribution grid)

Dear Friends,

I find there are two types of IEEE test systems for power system analysis. One
is IEEE radial test feeders for distribution system analysis. The other is
non-radial test feeder, which is used to test power system analysis for
transmission system level. The example cases provided by MATPOWER in power
flow solution are transmission systems.

Is MATPOWER capable to solve power flow for radial distribution feeders? I try
to perform a distribution grid power flow program. Could I use the data for
distribution system in the MATPOWER routine?

Best regards,
Claire
