Thanks for the input and clarification. Robin From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Ray Zimmerman Sent: 06 October 2011 08:46 PM To: MATPOWER discussion forum Subject: Re: LMP for Reserves Since the formulation for the OPF with reserves uses fixed zonal reserve constraints, the prices are defined in terms of these zonal constraints. They are not strictly nodal prices. The fact that the zones can overlap makes it even trickier. The reserve price computed by MATPOWER for a given generator is the sum of the shadow prices on the zonal constraints for the zones to which that generator belongs. I suppose you could assign the load buses to the zones as well, and simply *define* the reserve price at the load buses the same way. But it would be just that, a definition. -- Ray Zimmerman Senior Research Associate 419A Warren Hall, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY 14853 phone: (607) 255-9645 On Oct 6, 2011, at 8:31 AM, Naidoo, Robin wrote: This message (and attachments) is subject to restrictions and a disclaimer. In the case where there is no congestion, the price will be uniform at all buses. In the case where there is congestion on the network , the prices will not be the same at all the buses. I need some suggestion on how to obtain the prices at the non generator buses. Thanks Robin
