Dear all,

I'm trying to convert a database containing a part of my country's
power system (110, 220 and 400 kV lines). The problem is that I've
received the database from an Eurostag *.out file and this is giving
me headaches.
The reason for this is that I told the people who gave me the data to
give me the R, X and B parameters for the branches, which they did (I
have these parameters in p.u.). This may seem ok, but I now have
doubts that the values were transformed in p.u. using the correct
base, especially for transformers.
Hence, I come with the following questions: when computing the R, X
and B parameters for branches what base do you have to use? Is the
MVAbase and V2 (voltage at the "to" bus of the branch)? And, is this
base also used for transformers or just for lines?
And last, if no information regarding the ratio for transformers, how
can I compute this value? Would it be ok to write it as (rated V
"from" bus)/(rated V "to" bus)? Note that the transformers are not
phase-shifting ones.

Thank you for your answers!
Petre
