Hi, Does anyone know whether there is any way of running the power flow and OPF when, a test system is segregated into different zones and are connected by inter-zonal tie lines? I understand that we can run the power flow on the whole system (with the zone data as parts of the complete system data), but is it possible to distribute the power flow task to each zone while keeping the tie line intact?
And another question regarding power flow in islands within a system; How does matpower deals with power flows when there are islands, totally cut from each other? Is it possible to deal with several complete islands and make their power flow converge? Can it be done by adding one swing generator to each island setting its power output as zero?
