cross compiler on nix, so you'll need a vm.  "? What do you mean with "on
nix"? Perhaps I can test Matterhorn on Windows, too.

It is recommended to install Matterhorn always on an VM? Also on linux
systems? Does Matterhorn detect through VMware the hardware?

For institution interested in running Matterhorn on Windows, we're trying
our best to support it but we need more testers.  If you have a clean
Windows install, we would really appreciate it if you can try to install
Matterhorn's 3rd party tools, build from source, and attempt to process a
recording.  Keep in mind that the 3rd party scripts demand running a cross
compiler on nix, so you'll need a vm.  Please let me know if you can, and
note the version your testing with.
