I hope Dr. Zieleznik won't mind me stealing his answers so here you go.

The script is fine, just the location for the mirror site has changed
to http:/mirror.centos.org

To correct this you need to make a change in the file:
       /opt/matterhorn/1.2.0/docs/scripts/3rd_party/utilx
      where the change is:
                         export CENTOS_MIRROR=http:/mirror.centos.org
(originally it is set to: http://mirrors.kernel.org)

And re-run the script again.

And you'll probably run into a problem with the tiff library too...

Again, this site is dead.
But you can download the tiff file from:
   http://download.osgeo.org/libtiff/tiff-3.9.4.tar.gz
 and copy to folder
   /opt/matterhorn/1.2.0/docs/scripts/3rd_party/base_libs/tiff

and re-run.
