It's unfortunate that Oracle has taken this position, but fortunately Matterhorn appears to be relatively unscathed. Adam McKenzie and I have spent the day testing 1.3 and it seems that OpenJDK 6 works without modification. There will be some minor work needed for OpenJDK 7 centered mainly around dependencies for 3rd party libraries (log4j pax). I can make no guarantees for 1.2 or earlier, those have not been tested yet. All in all, it seems like some minor work and updating our documentation should get us through this in one piece!
