Leslaw,

I also looked into these and contacted someone who had used them (though I
don't know if it was the version 1 or 2). Here is what they told me:

"Well......I'd like to retract my favorable comment about the Voice Tracker
mics. We got excited about them when we first got them, but we learned later
on that they have a background sound like a babbling brook. In other words
they do ok picking up questions from the students if you're willing to put up
with the babbling brook sound. So, as of this date we have removed them from
our classrooms and gone back to PZMs."

At our school, we use a combination of PZMs (most are the Crown PZM-11 variety)
and wireless microphones. Three ceiling-mounted (height of around 16 feet) PZMs
can pick up any normal voice in a room of approximately 20x40 feet, and I use
some compression in post processing to equalize loud and quiet voices.

Subject: [Matterhorn-users] Question about microphones

We currently use a wireless microphone, which I found very unpractical as also
any portable.

Therefore I have just started looking for a permanently installed type of
'array of microphones'.
And after a quick search on the web I have found this:
http://www.acousticmagic.com/voice-tracker-array-microphone-technology.html
So I wonder whether somebody is using such equipment or perhaps something
similar?

It would be also interesting to know, what types of microphones people use?

Thanks,
Leslaw
