Hi Ruediger,

what are the first steps into testing the CA's capability to do RTP live streaming, which you indicated as "supported in 1.3". We have a Wowza server around, so where do I put which things?

Thanks + Regards, Andreas

Hi Leslaw,

we will replace Red5 with Wowza. The reason is that Red5 does not have a good support for h.264 streaming.

You might consider to switch to Wowza too is you want to use the Matterhorn CA for live streaming (supported in 1.3). But the CA can only do RTP streaming but you probably want to use RTMP-streaming as supported by most Flash video players like the JWPlayer. Wowza can do the protocol conversion from RTP to RTMP and will be an additional hub to avoid too much trafic on the CA itself. The support for live streaming in the Matterhorn Engage Module will come in 1.5 maybe even 1.6.

I just wonder, how many peoples are using commercial streaming servers like Wowza or RMS Adobe, against the free Red5, and the reason for it?
Even the shortest answer is very useful.

Many thanks,
Leslaw
