Dear fellow Matterhorn users,

as we start to use our Matterhorn 1.3 in these days, I wanted to improve
our workflow definitions. I decided that I wanted to use H.264 only, as
we luckly updated to a Wowza Media Server [1] that allows us to stream
H.264 [2].

Hi Ruediger.

Great, Thanks for the notes, they reaffirm my findings and there were a few points that I had not stumbled into yet.

We just updated our "production" (it's a pilot, but everything is up-to-production level on the technical side) setup to MH 1.3, and H.264 is one of the aspects we are looking into with great interest.

I have to mention one of the key points where H.264 is better than FLV is that we can really put our CPU cores to work, as it supports threading.

I hope my findings are helpful to others, as it seemed to me that there
was quite a lot chatting on IRC about using H.264.

Very helpful, thanks once again!
