Howdy Matterhorn Community :: As part of our Matterhorn roll- out at UC Santa Cruz, we currently exploring the Capture Agent options. The Epiphan Capture Agent is one of the option we are looking into: I have been able to get the Epiphan CA to work with our Matterhorn Core, so that is satisfying. My current task is the list all of CA options and investigate their applicability for our institution. So far my list looks like this:
1) Matterhorn Reference build CA (ie. following http://opencast.jira.com/wiki/display/MHDOC/Install+Capture+Agent+V1.3 ) 2) Epiphan 3) NCast ( I have not seen any specifics on this option, but I gather from postings that NCast is working on making an appliance that can operate with the Matterhorn Core) I would like to solicit input from other members of the Matterhorn community to help flesh out this list further. Please let me know if there are any options I am missing, and any thing I should know about the options. Of course option 1 (reference build) probably encompasses many different choices, so that could be an entire discussion in its self. I should note that one of the particular requirements we have for our Capture Agents is that we need them to be able to capture 2 DVI signals simultaneously. For that reason the Epiphan may not be the best choice for all of our classrooms. Besides this particular requirement, I think are biggest interest is minimizing cost and maximizing reliability. So in that respect, we are just like every one else. Thanks for any input on this, and please let us know if you would like clarification. Regards Mike Nardell
