Red and yellow are the normal operating colours for the LEDs on the device. There is also a blue LED that indicates disk activity. That you can't open the preview cgi page says to me that there's something very wrong with the device. If you reset to factory defaults does it start working? This could also cause the other symptoms you are experiencing.
