Hi Doug,

With the init.d script we "kill" the java process, but this gives the system still the time to shutdown as expected. If you look in the logs after the shutdown you will see that you get the expected shutdown messages. If the process can not be stopped in 7s (you can change this if you want) the system is killed immediately (with the -9 option), but this should only happen if the server is stuck.

Hi Doug,

did the processing finished, or what was the state of affairs when everything
stopped? From the pastebin, it is not exactly clear what is going wrong, I see
only DEBUG and INFO messages, indicating that the messages are not critical.

Regarding the shutdown problem: which shutdown script are you using? The one
from the source checkout? Rüdiger may be able to give you insight into the
script (at least I think that he is the author).

Hi,

I have the standard distributed installation of Matterhorn running (3 VMs –
admin, engage, worker – shared storage across nodes). I am trying to retract a
media package using the Episodes UI and I'm getting the following errors on my
engage server http://pastebin.com/X4wPwqzr. I tried stopping and starting
Matterhorn on all servers, but this does not solve the problem. Also, I noticed
that when I run the matterhorn shutdown script on the engage and admin servers,
it actually has to kill the java process in order to shut it down. Does anyone
have any idea what could be causing these errors?

Thanks,
