HI Rudiger,

I'd be interested in looking at the windows recording app too.
Our defualt CA is going to be Galicatster but it would be interesting
to lok at the windows option for last minute deploying off-site maybe?

Regards.

Hi,

if you want to capture with the Matterhorn Capture agent on your notebook you
should not run MH in a VM. If you insist on using the VM search other forums on
VirtualBox on how to use webcams and USB 2 video devices in a VM.

On the other hand we here in Osnabrück will provide a simple windows recording
software that probably can do what you expect in a few weeks.

Hello,

I have another linux machine that houses the matterhorn core installation. This
machine only has the capture agent installed, i just want the capture agent on
this machine to be able to capture the vga signal from the laptop, the sound of
the presenter and possible the sound from the laptop if there is no sound from
the presenter to be captured. Can you please explain how I can achieve this ?

Thanks,

Is it possible? Yes. However that machine would have to be very very
powerful to act as both the presentation machine (ie, that the presenter
uses) and the encoding machine that Matterhorn runs on. This would also
require a fair bit of custom device configuration to integrate capturing
from the local desktop. This is not a configuration that Matterhorn
supports out of the box.

Subject: RE: quick question

So if am using a laptop, is it possible to capture the output from the VGA, am
using a 64 bit ,12gb ram dell laptop. with webcam. my interest is to capture
the output from the vga, the sound from the computer, the sound of the
presenter and the video of the presenter using the dells' webcam, can I achieve
all this at once.

The Epiphan VGA2USB driver is designed to talk to the Epiphan VGA2USB
hardware. If you aren't using a VGA2USB device then you don't need the
driver.

The webcam can probably be configured to work, but it might take some
experimentation on your part. See
