Hi all,
We're gearing up for the Opencast Unconference, scheduled to take place
Jan 30 - Feb 1, 2013 at the University of California San Diego.
We are the point where we have to make some decisions regarding facility
space and the schedule. If you are planning to attend the UC San Diego
conference, now is the time to register so that we can plan the best
conference for YOU!
To register, visit http://unconference.opencast.org/register and create
an account to get started.
We also have a pressing need to fill up the block of hotel rooms we
reserved at the Estancia Le Jolla. After December 1st, we cannot
guarantee these rooms will remain available. Reservation information at
http://unconference.opencast.org/hotel-and-travel. Be sure to identify
yourself as part of the "Matterhorn Meeting" group when making your
reservation.
After registering, the 2nd most important step is to propose a session
to include at
http://unconference.opencast.org/program/sessions/proposed. In December,
we will start the voting process to determine which sessions should be
offered at the unconference.
The working agenda has been updated
(http://unconference.opencast.org/schedule-glance), including the
following highlights:
* Several educational sessions organized by conference planners and
led by Matterhorn experts including Matterhorn Development,
Matterhorn Deployment, Talking to Decision-Makers About Matterhorn
and Technical Deep Dive
* YOU presenting your favorite Opencast topic or leading a titillating
discussion
* Lightning Talks - brief glimpses of new and exciting projects and
deployments underway in the community
* Capture Agent Showcase - hear from the movers and shakers in this
space and take a look at the latest and greatest capture devices
* UC San Diego campus tour - our hosts are planning a tour of this
beautiful campus with a focus on campus technology
* Opencast Trivia - think you know your stuff? come test your
knowledge against your colleagues and compete in a friendly trivia
game for prizes!
We hope to see you in San Diego! If you have any questions about the
unconference, you can email the conference planning team at
[email protected].
