I have to questions / worries:
1 - If the java code provides adequate defaults, I don't see why the install
scripts should provide a default at all. The scripts are complicated enough,
and even though I would vouch for a complete cleanup and (probably) makeover of
some features (specially those related with HW detection and configuration), I
don't think this question is worth it.
2 - Supposse we provide a bitrate by default. Which default may that be? Can we
assume there's an adequate default value for ANY hardware?
3 - Why do Hauppauge need a "peak" bitrate? Where do we get that value from?
