1 and 2 are a good point. You are right the default value in the java code
should be the optimal ones. But nevertheless I would think that we should at
least give the admins a hint how they can reduce the bitrate when they look
into the config. Can't we add a value like this and just comment it.
About the Hauppauge: The bitrate is not set from the matterhorn core anymore in
1.1. So the default bitrate of the card is used which is around 8Mbit. We found
out this config values years ago for virtpresenter, although we uses a much
higher bitrate there (4.4 Mbit default 6Mbit peak = DVD like quality). I can
not recall anymore if the peak bitrate is optional or mandatory. We reduced the
bitrate in the last semester for matterhorn, because of the ZIP-problem. And
even now I recognize that we have still problems with files > 4GB (but now with
ffmpeg somehow - see MH-7123).
