Rubén Pérez Vázquez commented on MH-7439:
-----------------------------------------
The 3rd party tools were correctly installed in Debian.
Additionally, some testing on MH-7434 was done. Debian was included alongside
Ubuntu in all the prerequisite checking and the other OS-dependant choices and
the results were:
- There was a missing dependence with the command "xz". The scripts didn't
check whether the library "xz-utils" was installed for Ubuntu (I assume because
it already is by default), so, this had to be added for Debian. Besides, the
package xz-utils is present in the standard repositories for the "Sid"
(unstable) version, but not for the Lenny (stable) version. The "backports"
repository had to be added to sources.list in order for that library to be
available for Lenny. However, this is normal because Lenny is quite an old
version (Debian takes a very long time to release stable versions), and it's
perfectly normal if we recommend Debian unstable for Matterhorn.
- I believe there are (but this wasn't really tested) still unchecked
dependences with zip, byacc, zlib and zlib-dev . Not a big deal anyway.
- After that was fixed, the 3rd party tools for windows compiled with no issues.
As this was a little experimental and involved slightly modifying the scripts,
I don't know whether to solve this as PASSED or FAILED QA.
I'm going to leave a comment in the issue MH-7434 informing of my "research",
so that Debian Sid can be safely included in the 3rd Party tool installation.
