The series service, and rest endpoints require an ACL to be submitted. We can
submit and empty ACL, but this may not be the expected or wanted behavior for
the creation of a series. There is also an open question about editing the ACL
once the series is created. To my mind, and Adam agreed, this changes the
concept of creating a series so that it no longer makes sense to do this with
out also specifying the ACL. Specifying the ACL in the upload/scheduler screen
doesn't feel right to me.
