So, let me get this straight:
- On June 22nd, when I committed the patches MH-6879, MH-6878, MH-7666. The
release manager told me it was too late in the release process to commit that
to the branch, too. Fair enough.
- On July 12th, I noted the capture agent tab was empty, probably due to some
patches going to the branch and some others (those I metioned above) not.
- On August 9th, way later in the release process, the release manager realizes
this is an important bug to fix (perhaps it wasn't as important when I reported
it) and not only assigns it to the person who created the patches in the first
place, but to some other unrelated developer.
- That developer, doing what he is suppossed to, fixes the task quickly but
suggests that perhaps the best thing would be merging the patches in the trunk
to the branch. I agree with that, btw.
- The patch added needs to be reviewed and tested, which was the reason for not
including those three initial patches in the first place.
This issue could have been fixed a month ago if those patches were allowed to
go into the branch, and now they would have been tested for almost a month.
Nice outcome, nevertheless!
