Judy Stern commented on MH-8122:
--------------------------------
Some questions:
What does "activated by configuration" mean?
When you refer to "system administrators" do you mean users of the admin UI
(i.e. "program administrators")? And does "dealing with" mean that the plan is
to leave the "Play" links there regardless of whether the media has been
retracted or not? Seems like a very bad idea, i.e. a "bug" not just an
"inconsistency" that should be resolved in some way.
Would be much better if the Recordings UI could talk to the episode service; is
this really so impossible? (Sorry if that's a naive question, but I just have
to ask it.) At the very least, if a user clicks "Play" to ask the episode
service whether the file has been retracted or not, and if it has, alert them
to the fact that it was retracted. Or, alternatively, is there a way for Engage
to check in with the episode service and let the user know that the reason the
movie is missing is because it has been retracted?

> Currently one can not see in the UI if an episode is actually retracted,
> which leads to inconsistencies in the ui. For example the "Recordings" screen
> still shows a "play" link, even thought the episode has been retracted.
> Clicking the link leads to an engage page with a missing movie.
> The proposal is to replace the play link on the recordings page with a link
> to the "inspect episode page". This link should be visible only after the
> respective workflow operation ("archive") has been processed successfully.
