Tobias Wunden commented on MH-8122:
-----------------------------------

"Activated by configuration" means that the configurer will chose whether the
episode service ui will be visible or not. Like this, the service ui will not
be there by default and won't interfer with current naming of tabs or existing
functionality. Like this, people who are willing to give the episode service a
try are free to enable it by configuration, while those who want to stick with
the current functionality and nomenclature can do so without any further
action. This seems like a good approach with regard to our iterative
development model and will allow everybody who cares to take a look at the
episode service and start thinking about how an integration with the recordings
ui may make sense.

The fact that there are play links on the recordings tab next to each
successfully finished workflow is indeed a bug, as it makes assumptions on what
the workflow does (i.e. distribute to engage). The episode service would offer
one possibility to fix the issue, but since it won't be visible by default,
it's no longer an option. I agree that the bug should still be filed and fixed
in a consistent way.

> Currently one can not see in the UI if an episode is actually retracted,
> which leads to inconsistencies in the ui. For example the "Recordings" screen
> still shows a "play" link, even thought the episode has been retracted.
> Clicking the link leads to an engage page with a missing movie.
> The proposal is to replace the play link on the recordings page with a link
> to the "inspect episode page". This link should be visible only after the
> respective workflow operation ("archive") has been processed successfully.
