We also have this issue.  The ACL info you publish the lecture with is
the ACL info it will always have.  Anything else requires you to update
the SOLR indicies.

We're working on some code to do this for our local needs; it was a bit
of a surprise to us at first, but the key is realising that it was
intended that workflow operations would be run to update series
information for published recordings.

Would be interested in hearing from Tobias as to whether the episode
service will encompass any of this,
