We have installation issues. Some of these issues inlcude: operating system
and library issues, lack of clarity from adopters on how to install, a lengthy
installation proceedure, etc.

Lots of suggestions have come up in several discussions; make deb and rpm
packages, provide vms, write a core install bash script, don't advertise
support for certain OSes, etc.

I'd like to #propose a working group of folks be charged with considering these
issues holistically, and determining our best course of action, which we can
then aim to implement for 1.4. I'd suggest that a reasonable timeline is to
get a clear understanding of the tasks (in jira) and form MH 1.4 installation
will take before Christmas, then we can assign those tasks in January.

Folks I think should be on this working group ("all of us" doesn't sound like
an ideal number for getting things done!) include:
- Rubencino (has written much of the CA installation scripts)
- Ruediger or someone from Oz (Ruediger has mentioned an interested in building
OS-specific packages)
- Greg (who has investigated the VM building script and has participated in the
CA installation scripts)
- Matjaz (menu3p ftw)
- Tobias (or someone else from Entwine, who has useful feedback from a variety
of adopters on the current install process)

This group is already big, but I hope it will be made up of the right folks to
be effective. Comments welcome!

(I won't be at the dev meeting this week because I'll be presenting on
Matterhorn, but I hope it can make the agenda and the people above can discuss
it)

Regards,

Chris
