I can't test this easily, since there seems to be no inbox configured for our
QA servers, so I'm not sure what (if any) the issues are with user interaction.
As usual, let me know if you want my input as you move forward.
Though I don't remember the specifics, I'm guessing that things are the way
they are due to decisions made to sacrifice usability (and cleanness of code)
for expediency ("let's get something done and we'll iterate on it later").
