I agree that a learner should NOT be taken to the admin page or the Matterhorn
Welcome Page or to a 404.
If, however, we simply change the url, we will introduce a new usability
problem for users that do/should have access to the admin UI (administrators,
potentially instructors): an identical logo now has two different meanings (in
one place it means "go to Welcome Page" and in the other "go to Media
Gallery").
It would be best if the user experience was consistent for each user: i.e. fine
for students who never see the admin UI for the Matterhorn logo to go to the
Media Gallery, but for users who work in both interfaces, it should go to the
Welcome page.
Alternatively (a quicker solution): get rid of the Matterhorn logo in Engage
(aren't institutions going to not want to have Matterhorn branding there
anyway?) and move the Media Gallery link (which is now over near the Search
element) into the logo's place. (This also avoids another minor usability
problem that would be introduced if the matterhorn logo goes to the Media
Gallery: two different mechanisms that take the user to the same place.)
