Is the UUID special in any way, or do I just flip a digit on it to make a new

you can flip a digit, but this is rather insecure in the long term to asure uniqueness ;)

I use the ubuntu package "uuid" for it (sudo apt-get install uuid).

It is the mediapackage-id in manifest.xml and the identifier in episode.xml. I exchange them both with the same uuid; dont know though if this is necessary.

Yes, I was also very happy about the clean resuming with the "empty" workflows when I found out (and I still am).
