Sorry about going dark, I'm working on UXO now and it's sucking up outrageous amounts of my time. It's fun to get a new game to work on, but I jumped on board at a crazy moment :-)
Right now the only way for a controller to get config information is to examine the JDOM config document that it can obtain from the dispatcher. It's certainly possible to build this facility though. You just need a list of names? A "*" view should be easy to implement, just tweak CommandMultipleViews.getView().
