Dear Max List:
Recently I installed a copy of NetBSD 1.4.2 on my Macintosh LCIII as
outlined at http://users.erols.com/ewinkler/installguide/installguide.html .
But after installing this version of NetBSD, I still have a couple of
questions.
I have installed this version of NetBSD twice. The first time I think I
might have done something wrong, and so I reinstalled NetBSD . I also ran a
diagnostic, as suggested by one of the members on this list. The diagnostic
went smoothly.
After booting into NetBSD, I still encounter two messages at the login
screen. The first message states, "/etc/rc.conf is not configured. Multiuser
boot aborted." The second message states after hitting <RETURN>, "Terminal
type is vt220. We recommend creating a non-root account and using su(1) for
access." I thought I had dealt with these issues already. I recall saving
the aforementioned configuration and converting the terminal mode to vt100
while in vi editor.
Any assistance in these matters would be most appreciated.
Roland :)
