Folks,
I rescued a IIcx from a one-way trip to the landfill. Is it a suitable
candidate for some *nix variant? I've got Red Hat GNU/Linux 7.2 running on
an i386 architecture, so I'm sort of leaning toward trying some flavor of
BSD on the Apple hardware. I intend to keep the mainboard, CPU (16MHz
68030), video board (Macintosh "High Resolution" Display Video), and case.
How much memory should I need and how large a hardrive - I assume the
current 20M memory and 80M hard drive are insufficient. Eventually I'll
install some sort of 10baseT ethernet card; what would be an interesting
use for the remaining expansion slot?
TIA for your advice.
