Hi to all,

Just read the archive to make sure I wasn't duplicating past questions, so here goes:

I have a PowerMac 6500/250. Tomorrow, I'll be receiving a 275 mhz mobo for it, maxed out at 128 MB RAM. I'm going to put in a Seagate 5400 rpm drive I have. The questions is this: which linux will run the best on this device, while still being able to have acceptable gui performance? I've had YDL 2.3 installed on a 6400 before, but it only had 72 MB RAM and the stock hard drive. It was pretty sluggish feeling. Now, this 6500 will obviously run 2.3 much faster, and may be just fine. But, are there any others out there that will do a better job? I have the 3 disc set of Mandrake 9.1, but I think it will only run on G3s or better, right? I could look for an older version for this computer, but would it run better than YDL? What about Suse? Or, should I just try to get OS 10.1.5 going on this setup? If 10.1.5 won't feel much slower than Linux, I'd rather go that route for long-term use, but I still want to learn Linux, so I'll have a version of it installed at least for a while.

Any advice?

Peace,
Todd
