I've got a Beige G3-266 (Overclocked to 300) with Mac OS 9.2.2, Yellow

Dog Linux works with one exception. I can't get the video resolutions
to be something other than 640*480.

Just to make sure it's not the problem, set the clock back to 266 & try it again. How reliable is the system with the clock cranked up like that? My beige 266 just turned 5 last week & I wouldn't mind getting a little extra oomph out of it. Then again, with G4 upgrade processors at less than $200, I might just go that route.

I used to run YDL on my beige G3/266; I set the video parameters
in BootX & it gave no trouble. I wasn't able to change resolutions
in Linux, but I really didn't care about that.

I had the video problem before overclocking the processor. The only reason I did that was to speed up OS X some. Running it at 300 works fine - 333 didn't on this one. I don't know how much difference an extra 33 mhz makes, but it seems somewhat faster.
