My set was burned on a Win2k PC at work. Were I a conspiracy buff I'd give that some attention... ;-))

At one time ( this may not be true now ) the YDL CD images were not truely ISO because of the Mac-specific info. I think it was recommended the images be burned via Toast on a Mac.

Note at the top of this URL where the info is for burning the images

http://www.yellowdoglinux.com/resources/ftp_mirrors.shtml

there is no mention of Winders. It is possible that whatever software you used to burn the images was not written to understand any Mac-specific info in those images. I am not saying that _all_ Winders CD writing software is incapable of writing YDL images, but it is possible that the specific software you used was the weakest link.

You did check the MD5 sums of the images against the published MD5 sums after download, right?

Current Release:
9e83ba0c42977906bf6ca617e67a509a yellowdog-3.0.1-sirius-20031118-install1.iso
1abe06ecf0acbb9c7b050a741f2b44bc yellowdog-3.0.1-sirius-20031118-install2.iso
ee656f63bccbabbca04180a079e98fb6 yellowdog-3.0.1-sirius-20031118-install3.iso

( that info was in http://ftp.yellowdoglinux.com/pub/yellowdog/iso/md5sum )

That way you can verify that the images were downloaded correctly ( and save the bandwidth of downloading again ).

If you want to run md5sum on Winders, you might want to check out
