Hi list, Looking through the archives, I see the following:
http://listserv.sap.com/pipermail/sapdb.general/2002-July/007387.html & http://listserv.sap.com/pipermail/sapdb.general/2002-July/007391.html I believe I have the same problem, as for the past couple of nights, our SAPDB backup via TSM/ADINT has failed. If I connect to the database that has this problem, I see two control sessions. Is there a way to definitely disconnect the users with the control session? If, using the DBMGUI, I select Instance->Sessions and kill the control sessions, they are still there. I've stopped the database and restarted it (including vserver), but I don't think that's done any good. Here is a list of all the processes from <sid>adm on the database server at the moment: UID PID PPID C STIME TTY TIME CMD ld5adm 146624 238450 0 12:02:14 - 0:00 /sapdb/programs/pgm/vserver start ld5adm 166490 238450 0 16:31:01 - 0:00 xserver.prt logger ld5adm 174108 1 0 16:31:01 - 0:00 /sapdb/programs/pgm/niserver ld5adm 196136 238450 0 11:35:49 - 0:00 /sapdb/programs/pgm/vserver start ld5adm 212546 1 0 16:31:53 - 0:01 /sapdb/LD5/db/pgm/kernel LD5 ld5adm 238450 1 0 16:31:01 - 0:02 /sapdb/programs/pgm/vserver start ld5adm 328572 212546 0 16:31:53 - 2:02 /sapdb/LD5/db/pgm/kernel LD5 ld5adm 363302 238450 0 11:41:36 - 0:00 /sapdb/programs/pgm/vserver start ld5adm 365768 238450 0 23:49:56 - 0:00 /sapdb/programs/pgm/vserver start ld5adm 437462 453542 0 17:20:23 - 0:58 /sapdb/LD5/db/pgm/dbmsrv -P 00000003000 <----- what about this, is it safe to kill? ld5adm 453542 238450 0 17:20:23 - 0:00 /sapdb/programs/pgm/vserver start ld5adm 470410 238450 0 17:29:54 - 0:01 /sapdb/programs/pgm/vserver start ld5adm 589048 238450 0 16:32:32 - 0:00 /sapdb/programs/pgm/vserver start ld5adm 633358 437462 0 17:20:23 - 0:00 /sapdb/LD5/db/pgm/dbmsrv -P 00000003000 <----- what about this, is it safe to kill? ld5adm 648560 238450 0 17:20:23 - 0:00 /sapdb/programs/pgm/vserver start ld5adm 695604 238450 0 11:41:37 - 0:00 /sapdb/programs/pgm/vserver start ld5adm 735770 238450 0 12:02:08 - 0:00 /sapdb/programs/pgm/vserver start Note: this is a LiveCache (development) System.
