Let me see if I can get this post right. I have downloaded and installed
MaxDB Version 7.5.0.5 and it has gone reasonably well but I still have one
hiccup. I cannot get the webdav?gui to start. IE 6 keeps giving internal
errors saying it can't find the server. Here are my settings:

ODBC Setup: Driver name :- SAP DB; Version 7.05.00.00; hostname blank as I'm
running it on a localhost.

Webdav setup in WebAdmin:
Service Name:   webdav
Init Function:  WDVHandlerInit
Exit Function:  WDVHandlerExit
Service Function:       WDVHandlerService
Library:                c:\program files\sdb\programs\web\pgm\wdvhandler.dll
Library Type:   C
Log file:               C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\sapdb\wa\webdav.log (contents below)
Session Pool:   WebDAV
Start Authomatic:       Enabled
IdxSearchLib:   c:\program files\sdb\programs\web\pgm\sapdbxis

If you start / restart the service with these settings, everything appears
OK. However, after issuing the command sapdbxie -I webdav (I *think* the
last parameter is correct - I have tried different names in case it's wrong)
I get an error saying it can't connect to database: and then nothing. There
is no log file anywhere that I can see.

Here are my registry settings:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\SAP DBTech\XIE\SAPDBXIE]
"Description"="WebDAV Asynchronous Indexing"
"EngineNode"="JAMES-2U6BYA225"
"IndexingLibraryDescription"="WebDAV Asynchronous Indexing Service"
"IndexingLibraryFile"="c:\\program files\\sdb\\programs\\web\\pgm\\sapdbxis"
"IndexingLibraryVersion"="7.5.00.05"
"IndexingServiceName"="MediaStore"
"LogFilename"="C:\\Documents and Settings\\All Users\\Application
Data\\sapdb\\wa\\sapdbxie.log"
"MaxThreads"="10"
"RegistryName"="WebDAV"
"RegistryNode"=""
"RegistryPassword"="DBA"
"RegistryTraceFilename"=""
"RegistryUser"="DBA"

I don't think the value of EngineNode is correct (I think it should not
contain my machine name)and I have my suspicions about RegistryNode. Can you
help please?

Best Regards,
James Bannon
(When in doubt, try honesty!)
