Greetings Martin,

Yes, this was it! Old time SAPDB user like me should have caught this
mistake. Glad to have it resolved. I guess it balances out (syntax error
my fault and pain, but having it fixed now is my relief). Reminds me of a
good old rock song by Pete Townshend:

I dig every second, I can laugh in the snow and rain
I get a buzz from being cold and wet
The pleasure seems to balance out the pain

Now we can upgrade the remaining servers to MaxDB 7.5.0.5, as this was our
only show stopper. The final revised create + restoration script is at:

Happy New Year to all, and hope that all your pleasures balance out your
pains.

going to Las Vegas today for New Years Eve...
... will be there a few days, always interested in meeting new people
... even if the only thing in common is MaxDB :)

Hi Stephen,

for the db_activate you do not need (must not use) the user&password.
        db_activate RECOVER completeFile
is enough.

If this isn't the fault, please send me the file dbm.utl
from your failed recovery and if possible, the file dbm.utl
of your main system, which contains the result of the backup-
command.

regards, Martin
