Zak: [GPL does not apply] unless the application is distributed outside of the legal entity (company, partnership, etc.) that provides the service. If you do not distribute GPL licensed software, then you do not need to accept the terms of the GPL. I've asked Zak to answer the remaining questions of the thread directly on the mailing list.
